11.09.2008

The test flights on Mi-24P helicopter fitted with the first Ukrainian engines were started on the 10th of September, 2008. On the 9th of October, 2008 a successive test flight was performed in the presence of Aleksiy Nikolaevich Yenin, Director of SE “AVIAKON” and Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Bohuslaev, Presedent - Chairman of the Board of “Motor Sich” JSC. During this flight the Mi-24 helicopter climbed up to the record altitude – 6030m (maximum altitude for Mi-24 helicopters fitted with standard engines is 4500m). The reached altitude is not the limit of capability, but still gives the basis to state that Mi-24 helicopter operation zone is extended, namely, the helicopter can be operated in hight-mountain conditions. Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Bohuslaev expressed his gratitude to the managing staff, air crew and personnel of SE “AVIAKON” for the significant contribution into the project, on the successful completion of which the future of Ukrainian aviation is dependent.
